The Dacian Kids, Pachamama Family – Education of the Future

Through the Roșia Montană Marathon event, the School of the Future envisions this educational project as a place of cultural exchange between the locals of Roșia and those who come here: children, teachers, families, and of course, people from outside.

Roșia Montană is the place that can give birth to concrete ideas and aspirations for the School of the Future. We look forward to presenting the new project to you during June 19-21, 2026, when we will come together for running in this UNESCO World Heritage cultural landscape, Roșia Montană hosting underground the longest mining galleries dating from the period of Roman occupation of Dacia.

Rights of Nature

We aim to implement legal rights for the Cârnic Massif at Roșia Montană, just as many natural monuments have received in various places around the world.

Social Cause

Because we focus on the well-being and development of the younger generation, over the past 6 years, we have successfully worked together to support the children of Roșia Montană, providing them with our help to ensure better conditions for learning and recreation.

Starting with the 6th edition (in 2018), we have contributed funds from the account of the Pachamama România Association (organizer of the Roșia Montană Marathon), along with donations from various sponsors and runners, to several social causes.

For the June 21, 2025 edition, our goal was to modernize Broader Park in the historic center of Roșia Montană.

Pachamama România will donate 10% of the funds raised from registrations for this year’s Roșia Montană Marathon edition.

Participate in one of the RMM events (Marathon, Half Marathon, Cross Country, or the Interconnectivity Hike) and you too will contribute to the social cause.

Culture

ROȘIA MONTANĂ MARATHON is an event that promotes the values of the region: traditions, ecotourism, ecology, cultural heritage, through folk concerts and traditional music, documentary film screenings, guided tours of the Natural Monuments in Roșia Montană, Church tours, and mine tours that include the Roman Galleries, the longest galleries in Europe, included in the UNESCO Heritage in July 2021.
